Problem description: To avoid packets being forwarded in infinite loops in Ethernet spanning tree prototcls are used. The family of thesee protocols comprises Spanning Tree Protocol, Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol and Multiple Spanning Tree. The last to arrive in the family is the Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol. It is designed to provide per VLAN routing in Ethernet. In this thesis the implementation of MSTP is described. Traffic engineering using MSTP and the utilization are described
